Presented are a method and a system for caching content in an environment having a social network overlaid on a physical network. The method for caching content in an environment having a social network overlaid on a physical network, which is provided by the present invention, may comprise the steps of: forming an overlay network in which a social network and a physical network are overlaid on each other; calculating link betweenness centrality of the social network, and selecting a predetermined number of links in descending order of the link betweenness centrality; setting up physical paths of the selected links; and caching content on an optimum node based on the set physical paths.
