[Class 79 (v)] In a vehicle adapted for a disabled driver the clutch pedal is pivotally connected to a rod 5, 6 directed angularly upward and terminating in a chest-piece 9 whereby pressure from the driver's chest actuates the clutch, and the brake pedal is pivotally connected to a rod 21 directed angularly upward and pivoted to a hand lever 24 whose lower end is fulcrummed on the floor. The clutch operating rod 5, 6 can be separated at a socket 10 and is guided in a sleeve 14 secured to a vertical member 15, the latter being hinged to the bottom of the dash board and secured in its operative position by a wing nut 18. The chestpiece 9 is adjustable angularly and is secured to the upturned portion 11 of rod 6 by a threaded rod 12 to permit fore and aft adjustment. The rods 5 and 21 are pivotally secured to their respective pedals as shown in Fig. 5, longitudinal adjustment being provided by screwed member 7. |
