Blood glucose monitoring method comprises a setup phase (4-100), monitoring phases (4-200) and reporting phases (4-400). A client account associates client identification data, login information and an identifier of glucose meter. The meter uses its identifier to upload (4-220) glucose measurements with timestamps. A server associates the measurements and timestamps with the client account, compares (4-222) the timestamp with a measurement schedule, and arranges the measurement as a pre-event measurement or post-event measurement. A pre-event time window is determined from the measurement schedule and the post-event time window is determined from the measurement schedule or from the timestamp of the pre-event measurement. The server acknowledges (4-230) the measurements and indicates (4-250) reminder time(s) to the meter. The meter reminds (4-290) the client. In a reporting phase (4-400) the server receives the login information and sends a status report based on the uploaded measurements and timestamps associated with the client account.
