a logic circuit including one or more logic gates; and a control circuit controlling the logic of the logic circuit, the control circuit comprising one or more control elements, the one or more control elements including at least one programmable resistance element and/or at least one threshold switching element, the one or more control elements being placed at randomly selected locations within the integrated circuit, wherein at least one of the one or more logic gates comprises a configuration input, and wherein the one or more control elements are connected to the configuration input of the at least one logic gate so as to control the logic state of the at least one logic gate.
