The present invention relates to a control system for a transmission of a wheel loader and a control method thereof. The control system of a transmission of a wheel loader comprises: a kick-down setting unit; a vehicle control unit (VCU) into which a setting signal of the kick-down setting unit is entered; and a transmission control unit (TCU) to be connected to the VCU and to control the transmission. The TCU controls the transmission to control one or more among the maximum driving speeds, decelerating performance, and driving force of the wheel loader in accordance with a setting signal of the kick-down setting unit. Accordingly, work can be done to have the most proper work characteristics in accordance with the selected step of the current transmission of the wheel loader even if the driver does not separately control each transmission control parameter when setting the kick-down.
