The present invention relates to a converter and a refining method for molten steel using the same. According to the embodiment of the present invention, the refining method for molten steel using a converter comprises: a step of preparing a converter, and embedding molten steel in the converter; a step of tilting the converter to face a tap hole of the converter, and arranging a nozzle on the converter bottom unit downwards; a step of primarily blowing the molten steel, and removing the generated slag through a charging hole of the converter; and a step of releasing the tilting of the molten steel, and secondarily blowing the molten steel. The converter comprises: a body including a bottom unit and a side wall unit, having an inner space; and a nozzle unit including the nozzle penetrating the bottom unit to be inclined to a side having the tap hole and the side facing the side having the tap hole among the side wall unit. As such, the refining method for the molten steel using the converter is able to easily insert the slag generated when the molten steel is refined in a low blowing converter by refining the molten steel. In other words, an end of the nozzle included on the bottom unit of the converter is installed to face a side wall of the converter, and first refining of the molten steel is performed while the converter is tilted to face the tap hole of the converter; thereby the nozzle is located on a break surface of the molten steel in the converter, and oxygen is able to be injected onto the break surface of the molten steel. As such, the converter is able to perform a similar role as an upper charging lance and is able to prevent the molten steel from being leaked with the slag since a process of removing the slag by tilting the converter during a blowing process is not required since the blowing process is performed after the converter is tilted. |
