PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminate shaping apparatus that, when a recoater head collides with an obstacle, can prevent the damage of the recoater head and can quickly restart a process of forming a material powder layer.SOLUTION: A laminate shaping apparatus comprises: a chamber that covers a required shaping area and is filled with an inert gas having a predetermined concentration; a recoater head 11 that supplies a material powder onto the shaping area and planarizes it to form a material powder layer while moving in the chamber; and a laser beam irradiation part that irradiates a laser beam to a predetermined place of the material powder layer to sinter the material powder to form a sintered layer. The recoater head 11 is configured to be movable by a drive mechanism. The drive mechanism comprises a servo motor 38 that moves the recoater head 11, an encoder 39 that detects the moving amount of the recoater head 11, and a control device 16 that controls the servo motor based on the detection value of the encoder 39. The control device 56 is configured to put the servo motor 38 into a non-controlled state when detecting that the recoater head 11 collides with an obstacle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
