PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square secondary battery improved in insertability of a wound electrode body into a battery container.SOLUTION: A square secondary battery of the present invention comprises: a wound electrode body arranged by winding electrodes each having a mixture layer-uncoated part at one end, and having a curved part and a flat part; a battery container having an opening, in which the wound electrode body is enclosed so that the curved part thereof is opposed to a bottom face of the container; a lid which closes the opening of the battery container; external terminals disposed on the lid; collector plates which are electrically connected with the corresponding external terminals and the corresponding uncoated parts; and an insulative protection film arranged on an outer periphery of the wound electrode body. The insulative protection film has a push-up part serving to push up the curved parts of the uncoated parts toward the lid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
