摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary type cylindrical furnace arranged to be able to mass-produce a negative electrode active material for nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries by suppressing the powder clogging caused in the furnace core tube, while the negative electrode active material is less in quantity of carbon coating and small in variation in crystallinity, etc. and high in capacity and cycle characteristic.SOLUTION: A rotary type cylindrical furnace comprises: a rotatable cylindrical furnace core tube having an outlet end for exhausting particles with carbon coating formed thereon; and a heating chamber having a heater for heating the furnace core tube. The furnace core tube has: a heating part located in the heating chamber with the heater; and a non-heating part located outside the heating chamber. The rotary type cylindrical furnace further comprises a jig on the side of the outlet end and the jig serves to force the particles to move toward the outlet end in the non-heating part located on the side of the outlet end in the furnace core tube.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
