PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool lubricant for manufacturing a seamless steel pipe capable of manufacturing the seamless steel pipe excellent in quality of interior and exterior surfaces with high productivity.SOLUTION: There is provided a tool lubricant having a composition containing, by mass%, a Li-containing compound of 3 to 20% in terms of LiO, a Si-containing compound of 30 to 80% in terms of SiOand iron oxide-containing product of 0.1 to less than 20% in terms of FeOor further one or more kind of an Al-containing compound of 5% or less in terms of AlO, a Ca-containing compound of 10% or less in terms of CaO, a Mg-containing compound of 5% or less in terms of MgO, a Ba-containing compound of 10% or less in terms of BaO, a Mn-containing compound of 5% or less in terms of MnO, a Na-containing compound of 30% or less in terms of NaO and a K-containing compound of 10% or less in terms of KO as an adjustment product. By applying the tool lubricant to a tool surface such as a plug for piercing rolling where oxided scale coating is formed on a surface thereof or the like and hot rolling such as piecing rolling is conducted, a molten product having extremely high flowability is formed on a tool surface and flaw generation in interior surface or exterior surface of a seamless steel pipe contacting with the tool is suppressed.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
