PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface acoustic wave device whose operating frequency is stable in a wide temperature range and which is easy to miniaturize.SOLUTION: The surface acoustic wave device includes: a piezoelectric substrate which has a first main surface and a second main surface and includes, on the first main surface, an interdigital electrode and a first electrode member electrically connected to the interdigital electrode; a first spinel polycrystal substrate joined to the second main surface of the piezoelectric substrate; and a second spinel polycrystal substrate on the surface of which an external terminal electrically connected to the first electrode member of the piezoelectric substrate is formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
