PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new complex compound that can be used as a catalyst for an organic synthesis reaction and in particular a surfactant type catalyst having both functions of catalytic ability and surface active ability.SOLUTION: A complex compound comprises a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic carbene ligand represented by formula (A) and including at least one metal atom selected from palladium, silver, rhodium, iridium, and ruthenium as a central metal.
