PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scaffold material having a high contact rate and a high filling rate with respect to new bones.SOLUTION: The scaffold material according to the present invention has a 3D honeycomb shape with a truncated octahedral structure of a titanium alloy or the like, and the surfaces of the scaffold material are coated with a DLC classified as an a-C:H. A truncated octahedron is formed by combining faces of different shapes, or square and regular hexagonal faces, so that the scaffold material assumes an approximate structure, depending on the structure of an interior of a living body. In addition, the surfaces and interior of the scaffold material of the invention are coated with an a-C:H among DLCs. The investors of the present invention have made it clear by experiments that the a-C:H coating has a large water droplet contact angle and a high wettability. It is known that cells generally have better adhesiveness as they become more hydrophilic. Since the scaffold material has been formed in a 3D honeycomb shape of a truncated octahedral structure, and at the same time the surfaces and interior of the scaffold material have been coated with an a-C:H, the synergy effect of the two features has helped obtain a scaffold material having a high contact rate (degree of adhesion) with new bones and a high filling rate within the specimen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
