PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery and a lithium nonaqueous electrolyte battery by which a high discharge capacity can be kept even in the case of repeating charge and discharge under a high-temperature environment.SOLUTION: An electrolyte for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprises: a nonaqueous organic solvent; and at least lithium hexafluorophosphate as a solute. The electrolyte includes 10-1000 mass ppm of a phosphorus-containing acidic compound and 0.01-10.0 mass% of difluorophosphate. The phosphorus-containing acidic compound is preferably at least one compound selected from a group consisting of HPF, HPOF, HPOF and HPO.SELECTED DRAWING: None
