PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in which, when converting a frame rate of a recorded moving picture, using the same frame for a plurality of times gives an unnatural feeling in the change of a focal plane.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: refocusing means for generating a refocused image at least on one virtual focal plane from light field data of a reference frame by making one frame of moving picture data composed of a plurality of frames of light field data containing ray route information and light quantity information to be a reference frame; interpolation means for interpolating the refocused image to positions neighboring the reference frame in time series; and virtual focal plane determination means for determining a virtual focal plane of the refocused image on the basis of the change in focal plane of the plurality of frames containing the reference frame.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
