PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video transmission system, a transmitter and a receiver that can enhance the resolution at the level expected at a transmitter side.SOLUTION: A video transmission system 1000 has a transmitter 100 and a receiver 200. The transmitter 100 transmits differential data of a first video generated by conducting interlace conversion on a second source video which is generated by conducting down-convert on a first source video, first conversion data for conducting progressive conversion on the first video, a third video generated by conducting up-convert on the second video which is generated by conducting progressive conversion on the first video by using the first source video and the first conversion data. The receiver 200 conducts the progressive conversion on the first video by using the first conversion data to generate a second video, conducts up-convert on the second video to generate a third video, and conducts video processing on the third video by using the differential data to generate a fourth video.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
