PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce hardness on a certain portion relative to hardness on other portions, and impact absorption performance of an air bag is levelled.SOLUTION: An air bag 1 comprises a constraint surface 2 for receiving a colliding object. An opening 3 is provided in the constraint surface 2. The opening 3 is closed with a patch cloth 4 having at least pleat part 4a in which a fold extends between one side and the other side of the opening 3. A base cloth forming the constraint surface 2 and the patch cloth 4 are joint on whole area of an outer periphery of the opening 3. The pleat part 4a of the patch cloth 4 is covered with a cover cloth 6 disposed so as to be bridged from one side to the other side of the opening 3.EFFECT: As an effect, in a front air bag device or a side air bag device, neck injury can be reduced. In a curtain air bag device or air bag device for protecting pedestrian, without making a complicated seam line, pulling with a tether, or making a complicated chamber shape, impact absorption performance of the air bag is levelled.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
