PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens having a small-sized entire system and a high zoom ratio and capable of obtaining high optical performance easily over an entire zooming range.SOLUTION: A zoom lens comprises, in order from an object side to an image side, first to fifth lens groups having positive, negative, positive, positive, and positive or negative refractive power. During zooming, the first lens group is stationary, and the second, third, and fourth lens groups move to change a distance between the lens groups adjacent to each other. An aperture diaphragm is disposed between the second and third lens groups. The second lens group is located on the image side at a telephoto end. The third lens group is located on the object side. The zoom lens appropriately sets: a focal length fw of an entire system at a wide angle end; a focal length f3 of the third lens group; a focal length f4 of the fourth lens group; a lateral magnification β34w of a composite lens group composed of the third and fourth lens groups; and a lateral magnification β34t of the composite lens group composed of the third and fourth lens groups.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
