PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for monitoring the shape of a glass ribbon, capable of monitoring changes in the shape of the glass ribbon without using special light, and a method and apparatus for manufacturing a glass article.SOLUTION: A method for monitoring the shape of a glass ribbon comprises: projecting a base B placed at a fixed position on a glass ribbon G; and monitoring changes in the shape of the glass ribbon G on the basis of an image obtained by imaging the figure of the base B reflected on the glass ribbon G. An apparatus 11 for manufacturing a glass ribbon comprises: the base B placed at a fixed position and reflected on the glass ribbon G; an imaging unit 16 for imaging the figure of the base B reflected on the glass ribbon G; and a control part for calculating a shape property value of the glass ribbon G on the basis of the image obtained by the imaging unit 16 and is applied to the manufacture of a glass article using the down draw method.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
