摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device capable of protecting a frictional engagement mechanism from heat damage, and improving responsiveness to driver's driving operation.SOLUTION: A control portion of a power transmission device inhibits change of shift stage to a first target shift stage (STEP 2) when a temperature of a frictional engagement mechanism of which a state is switched, is a first prescribed temperature or higher in gear shifting. In a case where it is determined that the change to a second target shift stage is proper (YES in STEP 3), and when a temperature of the frictional engagement mechanism of which the state is switched, is a second prescribed temperature or higher (YES in STEP 6), a hold processing is executed (STEP 4) to inhibit the change to the second target shift stage and to keep traveling with the present shift stage, and when the detected temperature is less than the second prescribed temperature (NO in STEP 6), a second target shifting process permitting the change to the second target shift stage is executed (STEP 9).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
