PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens drive unit which does not require parts such as a Hall sensor and suspension wire to detect lens shake and which offers fast response and superior reliability and is easier to assemble, leading to high production efficiency.SOLUTION: A lens drive unit is capable of correcting shaking and blurring of images caused by hand shake and includes; a housing; a lens barrel 30 configured to be movable in an optical axis direction inside the housing; a permanent magnet mount that is arranged surrounding the lens barrel 30 and is movable along a direction perpendicular to the optical axis; and OIS elastic modules for bringing the permanent magnet mount back to a preset position when the mount moves in the direction perpendicular to the optical axis. Elastic resilience of the OIS elastic modules realizes optical camera-shake correction capability by moving a lens back to a default position after the lens is shaken.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
