PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dephosphorization method for an aluminum alloy for casting, and flux for dephosphorization capable of removing phosphorous from the molten metal of an aluminum alloy even without using large scale equipment, and further, suitably filling the molten metal into the casting mold.SOLUTION: There is provided a dephosphorization method for an aluminum alloy for casting, including: a first step where calcium fluoride is added to the molten metal of an aluminum alloy for casting to generate calcium phosphide; a second step where, by adding potassium chloride to the molten metal with the calcium phosphide generated in the first step, the calcium phosphide in the molten metal is stuck to the potassium chloride; and a third step where the potassium chloride stuck with the calcium phosphide in the second step, as slag, is floated up on the liquid face of the molten metal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
