PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming method that can suppress a delay in start of image formation accompanying execution of rotation processing in copying processing.SOLUTION: When an operation of copying processing to copy a document placed on a document placing part is executed, an image forming apparatus determines the size and direction of the document placed on the document placing part (step S1), and when determining that the document placed on the document placing part is a document in A4 size placed to have its longitudinal direction parallel to a direction perpendicular to a document conveying direction (Yes in step S3), suspends the execution of the copying processing and notifies a user of a result of the detection of the size and direction of the document (step S6).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8 |
