PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical cell capable of securing electric reliability while simplifying a configuration, reducing manufacturing man-hour, and reducing cost, and to provide a manufacturing method of the same.SOLUTION: The electrochemical cell includes: an electrode group 3 formed by overlapping a positive electrode 21 and a negative electrode 22 through a separator 23; a positive electrode side container 11 electrically connected to a positive electrode projection 27 of the positive electrode 21 protruding with respect to an overlapping portion with the negative electrode 22; and a negative electrode side container 13, to which a negative electrode projection 34 of the negative electrode 22 protruding with respect to an overlapping portion is electrically connected, defining a housing space S for housing the electrode group 3 along with the positive electrode side container 11.
