PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyphenylene sulfide film for a release film that is highly smooth and has excellent slipperiness (and windability), to achieve both a high-quality smooth surface and high heat resistance.SOLUTION: When one surface of a film is set as A face and the other surface is set as B face, A face and B face satisfy all of the following (1)-(3) surface physical properties. (1) A face has a surface roughness (SRaA) smaller than a surface roughness (SRaB) of B face, with SRaA of 20 nm or less. (2) A face has a kurtosis (SkuA) of 3 or more and 7 or less.
