PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio communication device capable of preventing communication failure due to power-off from occurring without using a nonvolatile memory such as an EEPROM to store a packet number in packet communication in which packet communication is performed by using consecutive packet numbers regardless of the stop of radio communication.SOLUTION: If a radio communication device receives packet data before receiving a message to start packet communication when power is turned on, the radio communication device prompts an opposite device to transmit the message to start packet communication, and initializes a packet number in time with the transmission and reception of the message to start packet communication.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
