PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus configured to enable high-speed object detection processing, while reducing the computational complexity required for decryption processing.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus includes: a gradient direction estimation section 2 which estimates a gradient direction of an image from a coding parameter extracted by a parsing section 1; and a gradient intensity estimation section 3 which estimates gradient intensity of the image from the coding parameter extracted by the parsing section 1.
