PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water closet capable of preventing odor from rising from a sewer conduit through a trap after flashing water.SOLUTION: The water closet includes: a toilet bowl 1; a water supply part 4 for supplying water to the toilet bowl 1; and a deformable drain trap 2 which is connected to a drain port 10 in the bottom of the toilet bowl 1. The water closet further includes: a trap case 6 storing the drain trap 2; and a drive unit 3 which drives the drain trap 2 to change the downstream end position between a drain position and a water-seal position. The trap case 6 has a closing part 7 which is arranged to close the opening at the downstream end of the drain trap 2 positioned at water seal position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
