PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical writing device that has a structure in which a lengthy lens array is divided into pieces as a plurality of sub lens arrays and can suppress deterioration in image quality, and an image forming device comprising the optical writing device.SOLUTION: An optical system 12 comprises sub lens arrays 122 constituted to include a plurality of imaging lenses 121 and a lens array 123 constituted by arraying the sub lens arrays 122 in plural numbers along a longitudinal direction of a light source substrate 11. Between two adjacent sub lens arrays 122 is provided a first gap G1 large enough for the gap not to interfere with adjacent sub arrays 122 when inflated by heat.
