PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of improving security at low cost and with user-friendliness by using an existing fixed telephone.SOLUTION: A monitoring system comprises: at least one sensor 40; at least one monitoring camera 30B; a master unit 10 which is connected to a fixed telephone network and can be communicated with another fixed telephone; and a mobile phone terminal (a smart phone) 50 which is connected to another mobile phone via a mobile phone network. The master unit 10 records an image captured by the monitoring camera 30B, or outputs warning information, in accordance with presence/absence of detection of an event by at least two of the sensors 40 and monitoring cameras 30B.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
