摘要 According to the present invention, an apparatus to control a flow of molten steel surface comprises: a plurality of temperature detectors, a molten flow detection unit, a flow pattern sorting unit, a magnetic field generation unit, and a control unit. The plurality of temperature detectors detect a temperature at a plurality of positions in a widthwise direction of a mold having molten steel contained therein. The molten steel flow detection unit detects a relative temperature value of each position, which is detected by each of the plurality of temperature detectors, as a molten steel surface flow shape of the molten steel. The flow pattern sorting unit analyzes the molten steel surface shape detected by the molten steel flow detection unit to be sorted into one of a pre-stored plurality of flow pattern types. The magnetic generation unit is installed in an exterior of the mold to generate a magnetic field, and controls the flow of the molten steel by the magnetic field. The control unit stores the plurality of flow control types in accordance with the plurality of flow pattern types stored in the flow pattern sorting unit. The control unit selects one flow control type in accordance with the sorted flow pattern type among the plurality of flow control types to control the driving of the magnetic field generation unit. As such, in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, the plurality of temperature detectors are installed in an upper side of the mold to detect the temperature on each position in the widthwise direction of the molten steel surface, and relatively shows the temperature to be converted to the relative height of each position of the molten steel surface of the molten steel; thereby detecting the molten steel surface flow shape. In addition, the molten steel surface flow shape is sorted into one of a previously stored plurality of flow pattern types, and the magnetic field within the mold is controlled in accordance with the sorted flow pattern type such that the flow of the molten steel while working is able to be controlled to be a normal flow pattern with less or no possibility of generating a fault in a cast-piece.
