The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a method of controlling the same which includes a main body including a first display coupled to a front surface and a second display coupled to a rear surface; at least one band worn on a body of a user; a coupling unit for coupling the main body to the band to selectively expose the first or second display; a sensing unit for sensing a coupling direction of the main body with respect to the band; and a control unit for executing a preset control function based on the sensing result of the sensing unit. Thus, the display may be selected and used according to user convenience by mounting the heterogeneous displays on the front and rear surfaces of a smart watch. In addition, it is possible to vary a user input by performing a set function according to an operation of selecting a display by a user.
