Disclosed herein are infant nutrition compositions comprising large lipid globules with a size of greater than 1 micron. Also disclosed is the use of the compositions as an infant to reduce cholesterol levels later in life. Also disclosed is the use of lipid for the preparation of a nutritional composition wherein the lipid is present in the form of lipid globules, said lipid globules having a volume weighted mode diameter above 1.0 µm and comprising triglycerides derived from vegetable origin, for feeding a human subject having an age of 0 to 36 months, for a) reducing blood cholesterol levels, and/or b) reducing levels of blood LDL and/or VLDL, c) preventing hypercholesterolaemia and/or hyperlipoproteinemia, and/or d) preventing atherosclerosis, when said human subject has reached an age above 36 months. |
