A harvester head (11), comprising a measuring wheel apparatus (24) and a power device. The measuring wheel apparatus comprises a measuring wheel configured to roll along a tree trunk when the trunk is fed through the harvester head (11). The power device is configured to swivel the measuring wheel apparatus (24) and to keep the measuring wheel pressed against the tree trunk. The measuring wheel is configured to remain in an elevated position in relation to the frame structure (12) of the harvester head, wherein the measuring wheel has a supporting position to support the trunk and to prevent the placement of the trunk against the frame structure (12). The apparatus allows the measuring wheel to act as an idler wheel so that a separate wheel is not required to support the trunk while it is being delimbed. |
