PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a subject information acquisition device capable of reducing the time for acquiring characteristic information on a subject and improving the accuracy of the characteristic information on the subject with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device 100 includes a setting part 109 for setting an attention area for forming characteristic information on a subject 104, a position control part 108a for moving a reception part 105 including a plurality of acoustic wave detection elements to a plurality of predetermined reception positions, a recording part 111 for associating and storing the information on the time that elapses before an acoustic wave generated in the attention area arrives at the plurality of acoustic wave detection elements 106 and the information on the predetermined reception position beforehand for each of the plurality of predetermined reception positions, and an acquisition part 112 for acquiring characteristic information on the subject in the attention area using an electric signal which is output when the acoustic wave propagating from the attention area is received by the plurality of acoustic wave detection elements 106, and the information on the time read from the recording part 111 for each of the plurality of predetermined reception positions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
