Class 20 (2) Floor or roof shuttering comprises parallel spacedapart inverted channel section shuttering members 1, Fig. 1, and channel section beam members 2 fitted between adjacent members 1 with the outer sides of the beam and shuttering members abutting, means 12, Fig. 1, or 60; Fig. 5, being provided for holding the members 1 and 2 in close engagement. The assembly is supported by transverse tubes 48 and a framework 37, e.g. as described in Specification 707,971. The members 1 each have strengthening rods 9, Fig. 3, welded at their ends to the sides 3 and end plates 10 adapted to abut against an end or cross wall may be. provided. Short elements 12 of shallow channel section supported directly on the tubes 48 are adaptedto engage under the beams 2, their sides 13 holding the sides 3 of the members 1 pressed firmly against the sides of the beams 2. The sides 13 may be notched to clear the rods 9 of the members 1. Studs 16 on the beams 2 engage holes in the elements 12 to locate the latter in their correct positions. Instead of the separate channel elements 12, U-shaped clips 60, Fig. 5, rotatably mounted on the base of each beam 2 may serve to hold the sides of the beam and shuttering members in close engagement. To complete the span across the side walls, side shuttering elements 18, are provided bent to shape as shown in Fig. 3, the upstanding side portion 20, which is slotted to allow passage of the rods 9, engaging under the adjacent members 1 and separate or integral flange members 23 fitting against the faces of the walls. The transverse tubes 48 are each provided at their ends with telescopic extensions 49 operated by a handle 50 and adapted to engage in slots 51 in the wall. The shuttering and beam members 1, 2 may be of sheet metal or asbestos sheet and may be formed in two sizes to allow them to fit telescopically end to end.</p> |
