The present invention relates to a method for inspecting a forged passport and a recording medium therefor. The present invention is performed in a passport inspection system comprising a control unit, a storage unit which is connected to the control unit and stores an image of a passport for comparison, an input unit which is connected to the control unit and serves as a means for inputting a user's command, and a display unit which is connected to the control unit and displays the result of inspection, and comprises: an inspected passport image acquisition step for acquiring an image of an inspected passport through a scanner connected to the passport inspection system and storing the acquired image in the storage unit; a validity check step for checking the validity of machine readable zone (MRZ) data in the image of the inspected passport; a comparison passport image search step for searching for an image of a passport for comparison to be compared to the inspected passport, from the storage unit; a passport comparison step for comparing the inspected passport with the passport for comparison; and a passport forgery inspection result display step for displaying the result of the inspection on the display unit.
