The purpose of the present invention is to satisfactorily transmit HDR image data between machines. In the present invention, high dynamic range image data is sent to an external machine. Transmission method information and/or gamma correction information of the high dynamic range image data is sent to the external machine. The external machine can easily ascertain, for example, the transmission method used for the high dynamic range image data sent thereto and if any gamma correction method was applied. Consequently, high dynamic range image data can be satisfactorily transmitted. |
