A method, apparatus and system for controlling the changing of traffic lights. The method comprises the following steps: step S102, acquiring road condition information about a crossroad at which a terminal is located, the road condition information including crossroad position information and voting information about a road direction, wherein the voting information about the road direction corresponds to the crossroad position information; step S104, collecting statistics about the road condition information, and comparing the road condition information with a pre-set traffic light control strategy to obtain a comparison result; and step S106, sending the comparison result to a traffic light control centre, wherein the traffic light control centre controls the changing of the traffic lights at the crossroad according to the comparison result. The system solves the problems of traffic congestion and of traffic resources being ineffectively used which are caused due to a continuous increase in car ownership in cities and insufficient resources for road facilities in cities, alleviates the traffic vehicle flow pressure and provides convenience for people's travels. |
