A switching control circuit (10) alternately turns on and off switching elements (Q1, Q2), with an intervening dead time, at a switching frequency at which the impedance of a multi-resonant circuit becomes inductive. During operation in a third quadrant of the current-voltage characteristics of the switching elements (Q1, Q2), a control signal is supplied to control terminals of the switching elements (Q1, Q2) to cause the switching elements to allow current to pass therethrough, and the dead time is determined such that, when tc represents the commutation time period in which the voltages at both ends of switching circuits (S1, S2) change, ta represents the time period of operation in the third quadrant, and td represents the dead time, tc≤td<(tc+ta) is satisfied. |
