PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved contrast agent which has a longer in vivo life and provides a sufficient concentration in tissues to be analyzed and a low residual gadolinium concentration to avoid side effects.SOLUTION: The present invention provides lipid nanoparticles expressing metal ions, and methods for magnetic resonance imaging using a composition comprising a lipid, a polyalkylene-containing lipid and a lipid-containing metal chelator.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 10
