摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an installed capacity to be reduced by reducing a component to be inserted and connected to a main circuit of the excitation device, and allow transient stability in a system accident to improve.SOLUTION: An excitation device for a synchronous machine 1 comprises: a thyristor rectifier 7 that converts an output voltage of a current transformer 8 for an excitation into a DC voltage, and supplies a field magnet current to a field winding of the synchronous machine 1 in accordance with a gate signal supplied from an automatic voltage regulator 9 for adjusting the output voltage of the synchronous machine 1; and a power storage device 20 that has a function for discharging an electric power charged to power storage means 14D to the field magnet winding of the synchronous machine 1 when the output voltage of the synchronous machine 1 becomes lower than a predetermined value due to a system accident. The power storage device 20 comprises: a power storage power circuit 13 that rectifies the output voltage of the current transformer 8 for the excitation, and generates the DC voltage; a power storage principal circuit 14 that charges the power storage means 14D so as to set the DC voltage outputted by the power storage power circuit 13 as a power source; and a power storage control circuit 16 that controls the charging current of the power storage means 14D so as to become the predetermined value, and controls the charging voltage of the power storage means 14D so as to set the charging voltage within a predetermined range.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
