PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that can suppress a deterioration in the accuracy of a scanning position due to an error in the shape in the sub scanning direction on a lens surface of a scanning lens, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: An exposure scanner includes a light source part, deflection means, optical element 50 that forms light beams deflected by a deflector into a desired shape, and base member that holds the optical element, and the optical element has a positioning part 51 for determining the position of the optical element with respect to the base member.
