摘要 The method and system to convert portable document format (PDF) file to Braille includes an electrical interactive refreshable dynamic board connected to a processor that inputs scanned text and outputs embossed Braille tactile indicia readable by anyone who can read Braille via the sense of touch. Piezoelectric actuators raise and lower Braille pins according to the translated scanned text. Moreover, the system supports Arabic language. Preferably, open source software is used for cross-platform compatibility. The GUI was developed in JAVA and the PDF conversion drivers were developed in C.
