This organic EL device is provided with: a substrate; a first recess part provided on the upper surface of the substrate; a reflective layer provided at least along the surface of the first recess part; an optically transparent filler layer filling the inside of the first recess part and having a second recess provided on the upper surface; an optically transparent first electrode provided at least on the upper side of the filler layer; an organic layer provided on the upper side of the first electrode, the organic layer including a light-emitting layer; and a second electrode provided on the upper side of the organic layer, the second electrode exhibiting optical transparency and light reflectivity. At least a part of a light emission region, of the organic layer, formed so as to be sandwiched between the first electrode and the second electrode is located in the second recess. The reflective layer and the first electrode are in contact around the first recess. |
