PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an external power supply system to stably supply electric power to an external load.SOLUTION: A method for controlling an external power supply system supplying electric power from a fuel cell and a secondary battery mounted in a vehicle to an external load, comprises: controlling power generation of the fuel cell and charging and discharging of the secondary battery so that externally supplied electric power that is electric power supplied from the fuel cell and the secondary battery to the external load is not higher than supply permissible electric power; and setting a value of the supply permissible electric power so as to be not greater than a smaller value out of an upper limit value of charge electric power of the secondary battery set in response to a temperature and a power storage amount of the secondary battery and an upper limit value of discharge electric power of the secondary battery set in response to the temperature and the power storage amount of the secondary battery.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
