PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an imaging method, capable of suppressing reduction in a gray-scale of luminance in a composite image formed by composing a plurality number of imaged photographed in a different exposure time.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprises: an imaging sensor that outputs a first and a second signals photographed in a first exposure time and a second exposure time shorter than the first exposure time; an operation part 11 that operates, based on the first and second exposure times, a gain for adjusting at least one inclination of a first and a second input/output characteristics so that the input/output characteristics of the first signal is same as that of the second signal; a reduction/amplification part 12 that performs a reduction/amplification processing so that the inclination of the first and second input/output characteristics is adjusted based on the gain, and performs the reduction/amplification processing of the first and second signals based on the input/output characteristics subjected to performing the reduction/amplification processing; and a composing part 26 that composes the image into one image based on the reduction/amplification processed first and second signals.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
