PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base film for forming a barrier layer of an organic EL display device, with which a barrier laminate having a small retardation and an excellent ability of preventing permeation of moisture can be achieved.SOLUTION: The base film is used for forming a barrier layer of an organic electroluminescence display device. The base film includes a layer formed of an alicyclic olefin resin; and the baser film has an in-plane retardation of 10 nm or less and an absolute value of a retardation of 10 nm or less in a thickness direction.SELECTED DRAWING: None
