Described are a method and a system for determining the degree of social intimacy. The determining method includes: a step of detecting physical micromovement data of at least two subjects; a step of detecting photoplethysmogram (PPG) data from the physical micromovement data; a step of detecting heart rhythm pattern (HRP) data from the PPG data of the subjects; and a step of determining the degree of the relationship (intimacy) between the subjects by comparing the HRP data of the subjects.
