This control system for a mining machine controls a drive device that drives a traveling device of the mining machine. The control system comprises: an accelerator command value calculation unit that calculates an accelerator command value for increasing the speed of the mining machine; a correction value calculation unit that calculations a correction value for the accelerator command value on the basis of a first drive force component and a second drive force component of the drive device, the first drive force component being for bringing the mining machine to a target traveling speed and the second drive force component being for offsetting a resistance component from the traveling of the mining machine; an addition processing unit that adds the acceleration command value and the correction value and calculates a corrected accelerator command value; and an accelerator command value output unit that outputs the corrected accelerator command value to the drive device.
